Carbon Neutral Flights. One single short haul flight produces roughly the same amount of global warming gas as 3 months worth of driving a 1.4 litre car per person. And we're all flying more. You can't do much about the fuel efficiency of aircraft, but if you are taking a holiday or if you're an international student flying home, you can help reduce your personal contribution to global warming by making your flight carbon neutral. Organisations can balance out the CO2 associated with your flight through forestry and climate friendly energy projects which save equivalent amounts of CO2.

Well I Never...

The University has a Travel Plan which means we are trying to reduce staff and student car use and promote alternatives. Since 2000 the number of staff using their car to get to work has reduced by 16% to 39.9% and student car use has reduced from 14% to only 7% traveling by car.
