What this course offers you
- This course has been designed in partnership with Marshall Aerospace, Cambridge (one of the UK's major aircraft organisations) to prepare you for employment in the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul industry in a support role leading to engineering management.
- It provides the opportunity to gain knowledge of engines, airframes, avionics (instrumentation, electrical/electronics) and post-manufacture design.
- You will be taught by aircraft engineers. You will also attend talks and lectures by experts in the field of aircraft engineering to supplement your learning.
- Extensive practical training will be given to develop the hand skills required to operate in an aircraft maintenance environment and whilst these courses are mainly theory based, Marshall Aerospace recognise that work experience is a highly desirable element of your training and we will endeavour to work with you to assist in gaining work experience in the industry.
- Teaching for the FdEng takes place at Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge. If you successfully complete this, you may be able to progress to a BSc top-up year in Aircraft Engineering at Kingston University.
