Art and Design (Foundation) Diploma: Entry requirements

Typical offer

One of the following:

• Advanced GCE (A-level) or an AS GCE (AS-level) in Art and Design or equivalent
• BTEC National Diploma: Fine Art or a named Design pathway
• A minimum score of 24 is required for those applicants with International Baccalaureate Diploma or Certificate awards

Plus you must have five GCSEs grades C or above, or equivalent, one of which must be English language.

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 5.5 overall with no element below 5.0. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Please note that progression from the foundation diploma course to the BA(Hons) undergraduate courses require an overall IELTS grade of 6.0 with special conditions in all elements.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
