Art and Design (Foundation) Diploma: Student achievements

Success stories

Whether our students stay on at Kingston after their foundation year or move on to pastures new we are always impressed by and proud of their achievements.

IKEA colour wheelIn 2010 former foundation student Serena Wise, who stayed on at Kingston to complete a degree in graphic design, achieved extraordinary success along with her fellow student Jessica Reynolds, by winning this year's D&AD Student of the Year Award. They designed an eye-catching colour wheel in response to a brief set by IKEA to "inspire a wave of boundless change in people's homes by promoting the new IKEA catalogue".

Other successes from our foundation year include Rose Blake, who continued on to the Illustration and Animation BA(Hons), gaining a first class degree and a D&AD Best New Blood Award. Rose is now at the Royal College of Art studying an MA in Communication Art & Design. She has worked for clients including bbc.co.uk, The Times, Random House, Vice and ASOS.com.
