Entry requirements for 2017

Typical offer

Applicants will preferably have both of the following:

  • A minimum of 112 tariff points from recognised level 3 qualifications such as A-levels, BTECs, 14–19 Diplomas, IB.
  • GCSE (A*–C or comparable numeric scores under the newly reformed GCSE gradings)) five subjects including English and Maths (Key Skills and Functional Skills Level 2 may be used in lieu of GCSE English and Maths).
  • Offers will be made on the basis of your UCAS application and interview for selected applicants.

Mature applicants

We welcome applications from mature students (aged over 21) who can demonstrate, through portfolio/written work and relevant experience, that they have developed the skills necessary to enter the course.

Widening participation – every route counts

We are keen to hear from all applicants who are passionate about their subject and whose previous qualifications have adequately prepared them to succeed at degree level. 

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
