Biomedical Science FdSc: What our students say

Student profiles

Don't just take our word for it – here's what some of our current and recent students say about what it's like to study at Kingston.

Name: Paul Malgwi
Level: Year 2
Course: Biomedical Science FdSc

"I grew up in Nigeria and was educated there up to university-level in Biochemistry. However, I now live in the UK with my wife and kids, so this is where I call home. I am presently studying for a foundation degree in biomedical science – it usually takes four years but I am fast-tracking, which means finishing in two years.

"Because students who are likely to undertake this course will probably have other commitments, I want to say – it can be done! You will have all the help and assistance you will need, and it makes the possibility of reaching for your end goal a reality. What you learn is very applicable to day-to-day practices within the health sector and I have found the course to be very enjoyable.

"I really enjoy the fact that what I learn is easily translated into my work environment - it means that what I do at work makes a lot of sense, because you get to understand the theory."
