What this course offers you

This course allows you to study economics with a specific focus on the world of business, studying issues that affect large and small businesses across the globe. You'll develop your knowledge of economic theory and increase your understanding of how businesses operate.
You can choose to learn about the financial aspects of business and specialist aspects of economics.
The course will enhance your understanding of the real world by developing appropriate theories. You'll explore why people make the decisions that they do and what the consequences of those decisions are.
You will investigate the economic role of institutions, such as markets, productive enterprises, households and government. You'll also use quantitative methods to increase the precision of logical analysis.

The School of Economics has scored high marks for teaching in official inspections carried out by the Government's Quality Assurance Agency.
Work is assessed through both exams and coursework, depending on the module.
