About this course

Why choose this course?

If you are interested in how new developments in IT and the web are changing the business world, this course is ideal. It focuses on three main areas:

  • information technology
  • quantitative skills for decision-making and analysis
  • the main business areas of activity

You also have the option to undertake a work placement or study exchange in your third year, which provides valuable experience and the chance to put your academic studies into an industrial or business context. This will give you an edge on the competition when you look for a job.

What will you study?

You will study business application packages, computer networking and social applications, programming and internet technologies. You will develop web applications and design, and implement an information system. You will work on a group project for a client organisation to produce a feasibility report in applying an IT solution to a strategic or operational problem.

You will also have opportunities to study new web technologies, global information technology, management and decision sciences, and other business areas.

All our business courses have a shared first year so you can easily transfer to the second year of a different course if your interests change.
