Children's Nursing BSc(Hons): What our students say

Student profiles

Don't just take our word for it – here's what students say about what it's like to study at Kingston University.

Name: Lucy Broom
Course: Children's Nursing BSc(Hons)

"I chose to study children's nursing because I've always had a passion to work with children, and the idea of nursing them and caring for them; I can't see myself doing anything else. I like how there's such a wide range of ages you can work with – you could be working with a baby or a toddler, right up to a teenager, and I like the one-to-one contact you get with them and their families.

I like how Kingston and St George's focus on your work experience as well as your academic skills, which is important because nursing is a hand-on, caring profession and it's not just about facts and figures.

I think being a part of the faculty and having access to St George's, University of London is great because it enables interprofessional learning, where we can work with healthcare students, midwives, radiographers and more, so it's not just about nursing but medicine as a whole."
