About this course
Why choose this course?
This course aims to produce graduates with a balanced mix of the technical and artistic skills that are highly valued within the computer-generated imagery (CGI), visual effects, computer animation, games and multimedia industries. It is taught by staff from the fields of science, technology and design, and balances theory with practical work including the use of industry-standard 2D and 3D CGI graphics software.
What will you study?
Early stages of the course provide a strong foundation in the science, mathematics, design and IT principles on which computer graphics technology is based. Once you have mastered the technical background, you can then explore advanced computer graphics techniques such as character rigging, dynamics, particle systems, advanced rendering and digital compositing. You can choose option modules to specialise in areas such as computer programming, multimedia and digital imaging.
