"I chose the joint honours degree because it gives me more flexibility.  Though my major is computing, I may be able to work in a business management-related environment in the future.   

"I like computing because I am quite good at calculations and the application of theories.  I also have a flare for programming languages and am a logical, outside-the-box thinker.

"As opposed to computing, which is very technical, business is a more arty subject with a different kind of analysis. Results with computing tend to be precise whereas with business there is always room for possibilities. Here, after the application of theories, results are based on arguments and individual analysis.

"I have found the teaching on the course very good.  Lecture notes are put up on a web-based learning support system called Blackboard so they can be printed before lectures.  You can then make notes on the printouts based on the lecturer's explanation. This tends to be very helpful during revision. The oral presentations are fun too – especially the formal ones where specified groups have to address the lecturer and fellow students on particular topics. 

"Kingston is also a good place for student life in general; it's quiet during the day but comes alive at night with the different bars and clubs – the social life is fantastic."
