Computing HND: Entry requirements
What you need to apply for this course
Typical offer
Points: 120
Units: to include one 12-unit award or two A-levels or equivalent
Subjects:
- Computing or analytical subject preferred
- A-level: General Studies accepted in tariff (30 points maximum)
- NVQ: Level 3 award in computing or IT
- City and Guilds: Level 3 in Computing or IT
- Key Skills: points not accepted in tariff but may be considered on individual basis
Plus GCSE (A–C): five subjects including English Language and Mathematics or an alternative Level 2 in Key Skills Communication and/or Application of Number.
Other entry routes
- Students with an HNC in Computing can gain direct entry to the third year of the part-time HND Computing course.
- We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that is equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.
International students
All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.
Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
