Computing HND: What our students say

Student profiles

Don't just take our word for it – here's what some of our current and recent students say about what it's like to study at Kingston.

Michael Mensah

Name: Michael Mensah
Age: 21
Course: Computing HND going on to do Computer Science BSc(Hons)
Route to University: A-levels
Accommodation: Family home

I knew I wanted to do a degree such as computer science, but chose to start from the HND because I applied late and did not want to spend another year doing maths A-level.

"On the course I have appreciated the level of support you get from the tutors and I have found the teaching to be great. The classes are small so there is plenty of interaction with the teachers and questions can always be answered while you are working on a task. The tutors let you get on with it, but help out if you are stuck. I have particularly enjoyed starting to learn programming as well as getting good grades and, of course, making new friends.

"I have always wanted to do something to do with games and while I still have this ambition, the course has given me a lot of alternative options."
