What this course offers you

This broad-focused degree capitalises on the vibrant and multi-cultural dance in London.
It helps those who may not have a classical or contemporary dance background to develop their knowledge and skills.
Modules range from Social Dance to Dances of the African Diaspora and Cultural Perspectives on British Dance.
Optional modules at Levels 2 and 3 allow you to follow your own interests and career goals.
The course focuses on understanding theory through practice. So we use a range of teaching methods, including:
- practical workshops with leading practitioners and well-known dance professionals;
- critical viewings; and
- lectures and seminars.
Kingston is just 25 minutes from central London, a major centre of dance in the UK and home to major international centres such as Sadler's Wells and The Place.
There are no written exams. Assessment methods include:
- performance;
- practical presentations;
- essays; and
- logs and portfolios.
Supportive staff help you develop to your full potential.
The course's broad focus means that graduates might choose to go into:
- community dance;
- dance therapy; or
- further professional training or academic study.
