Radiography: Diagnostic Radiography BSc(Hons): Learning support

How we can support you

Learning resources

Radiography is taught mainly on the Penrhyn Road campus of Kingston University, which offers extensive teaching resources alongside additional facilities, such as clinical skills laboratories. You'll have access to:

  • a dedicated radiography lecture suite including a practical room, computing facilities and other learning materials, plus areas for students to display their work;
  • two X-ray sets, with processing facilities, which enable students to gain simulated practical experience under safe conditions and to undertake radiographic demonstrations, equipment tests and research projects;
  • anatomical models and other educational materials for supporting the biological sciences;
  • a comprehensive image library with viewing arrangements and computer-supported digital image processing and radiotherapy planning; and
  • extensive library resources including:
    • our own library that supports the School of Radiography;
    • libraries at other Kingston University campuses;
    • the library at St George's, University of London;
    • the library at the Institute of Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital;
    • postgraduate centres at clinical placement sites; and
    • The British Institute of Radiology Library, incorporating The College of Radiographers Library, and other libraries in London are also readily accessible.

Outside links

We have a close relationship with our clinical placement centres. This means students benefit from lectures by clinical radiographers and other specialists.

We also have strong links with various medical physics departments, particularly those at:

These departments provide radiation monitoring services, are involved in teaching and often support students' projects in the final year of the course.

Web-based support

StudySpace

StudySpace is a web-based learning management system that provides access to a host of information and material to assist with your studies.

StudySpace resources vary from module to module.  For example, it might include:
