About this course
Why choose this course?
This course enables you to explore the practice, history and theory of drama in a range of contexts and settings. You will have the chance to work with leading professionals and be actively involved with productions. Our drama team has links with theatre and television, a close association with the town's Rose theatre, and is engaged in up-to-the-minute research.
You can also choose to study Drama as a joint honours degree alongside another subject. See the course combinations section for more information.
What will you study?
This course combines theory with practical work. You will look at different approaches to the study of performance; explore the skills of the actor, director and designer; and study theatre history. You will learn stagecraft techniques and procedures, and can focus on areas that you fi nd particularly interesting, such as performing, designing, writing for the stage and devising.
