"The drama department at Kingston gave me the chance to experience a truly professional, creative atmosphere and allowed me to work with other really talented students. I had the chance to direct the play 'Closer', and was given a healthy budget and space to rehearse.

"The opportunity also arose to work with the National Youth Music Theatre on the production of 'The Ragged Child' in the fantastic Rose Theatre in Kingston. I was also lucky enough to work in partnership with the Pleasance in Islington and lighting designers who were currently working on productions in the West End.

"As well as working within the community, Kingston gave me all the academic opportunities you would expect from a university, which perhaps a drama school wouldn't have provided."
