What this course offers you
- This course is ideal if you'd like to study one of Kingston's engineering degrees, but need a preparatory period of study beforehand.
- It provides an alternative entry route if you are a mature student with non-standard entry qualification or have not studied maths or science before. If you have the ability and motivation to succeed on your chosen degree course, the foundation year could be for you.
- The curriculum covers the engineering knowledge and study skills you will need for your degree. You study:
- applied mathematics and science;
- business issues; and
- communication and IT.
- You also learn:
- the basic techniques you'll need to use our extensive engineering laboratory facilities; and
- how to collect and analyse data in engineering experiments.
- We offer plenty of "kit" to get your hands on - from rapid prototyping software to a satellite global positioning systems.
