Level 2 : Communicating at Work
This is an optional module that includes a research project on an aspect of communication in the workplace. You will acquire work experience and demonstrate to prospective employers how your knowledge can benefit the working environment.
The project could be based on a part-time job you already have or you can arrange to do a specific project for one of the many organisations in Kingston. Employers which have been involved in Communicating at Work include:
- Kingston Magistrates' Court;
- Barclays;
- South West Trains;
- Warehouse;
- Top Shop;
- British Heart Foundation; and
- Ann Summers.
Level 3: Professional Communication Skills
On this module you will investigate an aspect of communication in a specific work sector. Students usually select an area of employment that they are considering working in. This gives you the chance to learn more about the profession and prove your interest to employers. In the past, students have interviewed MPs and leading newspaper editors, for example.
The Degree Show
The Degree Show is designed to demonstrate the diversity and richness of student work from the two Schools of Humanities and Performance and Screen Studies. It is a celebration of students' achievements during their time at Kingston University.
Local press are invited to the event and the show also aims to ensure that the calibre of Kingston graduates is recognised. It potentially offers you the chance to enhance your CV and prove your ability to prospective employers.
