Environmental Management BSc(Hons): Links with business and industry
How we work with industry partners
We have good links with employers in business, charities and the public sector. All large organisations, and increasingly small business too, need to consider environmental and sustainability policies, so you will also have numerous job opportunities.
Throughout your degree, we encourage you to apply your studies to real-life work situations. This means that you graduate with the skills employers need and it also keeps your course alive and relevant.
Guest speakers
One way we do this is by inviting guest lecturers from the many organisations with which we have contact. For example, a speaker from a leading environmental consultancy might talk about how industry deals with waste management or energy conservation.
Projects and placements
To develop your understanding and work-based skills, you undertake a project in which you run your own phantom consultancy, tending for contracts and supplying quotes.
This course also provides you with the opportunity to do an environmental industrial placement. Read more in the Industrial placement section.
