Fashion BA(Hons): Course features

What this course offers you

You will join a creative and dynamic environment of diverse departments in Kingston School of Art. Within this community you will develop as an individual to become an employable designer.

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in sponsored projects with fully paid summer internships at companies such as Urban Outfitters, Gap Inc, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M and Inditex Group (Zara).
  • Teaching focuses on studio-based design projects, with one-to-one and group tuition from experienced tutors and practising designers. As many members of staff work in relevant sectors their teaching includes up-to-date professional experience.
  • We also offer a programme of workshops and events delivered by visiting lecturers and industry professionals. For example, renowned fashion designer Todd Lynn and Professor Iain R Webb, former fashion editor/director of Blitz, Elle, Harpers & Queen and The Times regularly contribute to the course through talks and portfolio reviews.
  • Our end of year show attracts press and industry from all over the world. The event gives Year 3 students a chance to exhibit their collections at a central London venue. Our graduates have also shown their portfolios at the British Fashion Council preview day and at Graduate Fashion Week which attracts fashion scouts from the UK and overseas. For further information, see the Graduate Fashion Week website.
