A network of industrial support gives you first-hand experience of how fashion works. You learn to apply creativity to real problems in design through industrial-linked projects. This has given Kingston an international reputation for producing graduates with a complete understanding of the design process and a strong individual creative style.
We encourage you to participate in national competitions and high profile events. Outside companies set projects, often awarding placements or prizes to the best. This can make a great addition to your CV.

Kingston's fashion graduates have had success with their own labels and also gained senior positions in companies such as:
This strengthens our industrial links and reputation. Graduates often return to the University to recruit new designers.
Fashion students at all levels compete in sponsored competitions exclusive to Kingston. These have included projects with Thomas Pink, Limonta and Gas Clothing in Italy, for example. Level 2 students have visited sponsors in northern Italy and Antwerp in Belgium.
We produce our own end of year show. This gives Level 3 students the chance to exhibit their collections at an exciting London venue. The show is sponsored by Dewhirst, attracting press and industry from all over the world.
Our graduates have also shown their portfolios at the Graduate Fashion Week. Started in 1991, the event attracts fashion scouts from the UK and overseas. The prestigious River Island Gold Award is presented for the most outstanding collection in the Gala Show, worth £20,000. For further information, see www.gfw.org.uk.
