French BA(Hons): After you graduate

What our graduates say

Check out what our graduates have gone on to do and how studying at Kingston helped them achieve their goals.

Name: Andrea Hackett
Course: French joint honours

"Studying French at Kingston was a fantastic experience. The well-rounded course gave me the opportunity to study not only grammar and language, but also a wide variety of related modules - such as film and literature.

"The teachers are so enthusiastic about their subject and always ready to help with any difficulties or discuss ideas. It was great to be in a class with people who share a common interest in languages and work together to develop our skills.

"The year spent studying abroad was the most enriching and valuable part of the course. It enabled me to be immersed in another culture and gain a more natural feel for the language.

"The discipline and dedication involved in studying a language has helped in many different aspects of my working and personal life. After I graduated I felt it gave me the confidence to pursue my chosen career path. In the future I plan to work as an in-house translator for an international company. But I also hope to be able to travel and even work abroad as I certainly feel that translation is a skill that is sought after all over the world."
