Games Technology BSc(Hons): What our students say

Student profiles

Don't just take our word for it – here's what students say about what it's like to study at Kingston University.

Sonia Paul

Name: Sonia Paul
Course: Computer Science (Games Programming) BSc(Hons)

"I chose Kingston as the course curriculum made it clear that it is focused on skills required by the games industry, such as C++ programming, exposure to current engines and variety of gaming platforms. There is also a dedicated game lab with equipment and software available to students both during and outside of teaching time.

I found the tutors helpful and friendly, they were dedicated to teaching and to helping us to find and get a job in the industry. We've been given many opportunities to attend industry events which has helped me build my industry network.

I'm now a graduate game programmer at Boss Alien, which is part of Natural Motion and Zynga. I'm working on a popular mobile game CSR Racing. I really enjoy the dynamic nature of the job, there are always new challenges and more things to learn. It is also great to see others enjoying things you've made!"

Jo Jones

Name: Jo Jones
Course: Computer Science (Games Programming) BSc(Hons)

"I chose Kingston University because the games course looked good, Kingston is a great location and the Uni has a dedicated games lab with access to both Android and Apple tablets and new software such as Unity to work on.

The tutors helped me prepare my CV and showed me what to put on my portfolio website. Going to Develop introduced me to lots of game industry people too.

I'm now a games programmer and it's brilliant!"
