Historic Building Conservation FdSc and BSc top-up: Course features

What this course offers you

  • This industry-based vocational qualification will help you to further your career in building conservation. You develop the skills you need to help upkeep the UK's rich built heritage.
  • The course has been designed in an attempt to address the skills shortage in this area.
  • It would suit someone who is already working in the industry and has no formal qualifications or wants to supplement current qualifications. However, we are also delighted to receive applications from those new to the industry.
  • You have the chance to 'top up' to a BSc(Hons)-level degree after completing the two-year course.
  • You undertake academic modules at Building Crafts College and work-based modules with a specialist building company.
  • The course has the support of the National Heritage Training Group, which includes:
    • English Heritage;
    • the National Trust;
    • the Historic Royal Palaces; and
    • CITB-Construction Skills.
  • CITB Grants to support this training are available for qualifying companies.
