Points:
- Single honours: 240
- Joint honours: 240–360, depending on combination
Units: to include two A-levels or equivalent
Subjects:
- General Studies accepted when one of three A-levels or equivalent.
- Key Skills points not accepted in tariff.
- Plus GCSE: Mathematics and English (grade A–C preferred). Key Skills Level 2/3 may be used in lieu of poor GCSEs, depending on combination.
Further requirements for specific degrees
- Business: 280 points, with at least 180 points from 2 A-levels or equivalent; 5 GCSE subjects including Mathematics and English (grade A–C required). General Studies and Native Languages accepted at grade B when 1 of 3 A-levels or equivalent.
- Creative Writing: 60 points at A-level in English Literature, Literature and Language, Drama and Theatre Studies or a related subject. GCSE English (grade A-C required).
- Criminology: GCSE Mathematics, English and Science (grade A–C required).
- Drama: refer to Drama entry requirements.
- Economics (Applied): GCSE Mathematics (grade A–C required).
- English Literature: 80 points at A-level in English Literature / Language or a related subject. GCSE English (grade A-C required).
- French: 80 points at A-level in French or 40 points at AS-level or GCSE French grade A–B.
- History of Art, Design and Film: 5 GCSE subjects including Mathematics and English (grade A–C required).
- Human Geography: Geography A-level is not mandatory, but qualifications need to be in appropriate subjects; GCSE Mathematics and English (grade A–C required).
- Journalism: refer to Journalism entry requirements.
- Psychology: GCSE Mathematics grade A–C; students taking Psychology A-level must achieve grade C or above.
- Spanish: 80 points at A-level in Spanish or 40 points at AS-level or GCSE Spanish grade A–B.
Other entry routes
We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome, as well as mature students who have not necessarily undergone the conventional qualifications route. International students
All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements. Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.
Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
