Recent publications, guest speaker and media highlights include:

  • Dr Jeremy Nuttall, Senior Lecturer in Modern British History, has contributed to a book on Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson to mark a half-century since Wilson's 1966 election victory.

    The book, Harold Wilson: The Unprincipled Prime Minister? was edited by Dr Kevin Hickson and Dr Andrew Crines. Also, following the book's launch in the House of Commons in 2016, Dr Hickson came to give a talk at Kingston's History guest speaker series.  More details on our departmental blog.
  • Dr Rachael Johnson, lecturer on pleasure and leisure in the eighteenth century, recently appeared alongside Kevin McCloud on Channel 4's Great British Buildings (episode 1) talking about why people visited the seaside in the eighteenth century. Dr Johnson's research specialism is English spas and spa towns.
  • Kingston's internationally-renowned expert on the history of the French Revolution, Dr Marisa Linton gives an interview on her latest book, Choosing Terror (Oxford University Press), for the University of Melbourne, Australia.
