About this course

Why choose this course?

The idea of human rights has provoked intense debates on intervention, foreign aid and the nature of the recent 'war on terror'. This course enables you to explore the global issues of human rights and examine how they can be enforced and defended.

See the course combinations section for more information about the different joint honours options.

What will you study?

You will study a broad range of approaches to human rights, including history, politics, international relations, criminology, economics and law, and gain a knowledge of the complex role that human rights play in the contemporary world. You will also analyse the influence of human rights organisations in international and national contexts.
