Don't just take our word for it – here's what students say about what it's like to study at Kingston University.
Name: Diljeet Singh
Course: Information Systems (Internet Business) BSc(Hons)
"I visited a few universities in London before deciding on Kingston University. London was my first choice as I've lived in Delhi and seen how much influence a capital city has in terms of leisure and commercial scope. London is expensive but let's face it - you also have greater career opportunities. The location of Kingston University was ideal for me - in a very lively area of Kingston upon Thames with very good connections to central London.
"The course itself is very well designed and delivered. Even as a direct entrant from another country, I didn't have any problems in my studies - the bridging module helped me a lot. Once at Kingston I discovered that the University has a very good reputation in this field. The teaching standards are set to meet the industry requirements - especially in your final year, you learn how to work independently as well as in team.
"The teaching staff are very well trained and are in regular contact with employers. The University does a lot for its students in terms of maintaining the quality of education as well as considering future opportunities.
"In terms of facilities Kingston is a five-star university thanks to its new infrastructure - be it the classrooms, libraries, computer labs or learning centres. The entire campus is wifi-enabled and the friendly staff are always ready to help students."
Name: Joe Arday
Course: Computer Information Systems Design BSc (now Information Systems BSc)
Level: Final year (of a four year sandwich degree, including a placement year at Sun Microsystems)
"From the first day I walked through the doors of Kingston University, I have enjoyed the whole experience of both studying and being involved with the student community. On a personal level I feel privileged to have worked with people from lots of different backgrounds – people I hold in high regard and who will remain friends.
"For my final year project I developed a sports club content management system. I thoroughly enjoyed working on a project of my own choice, which was based on the experience I had gained throughout the course. I found managing the project from start to finish particularly satisfying.
"However, my favourite part was having the opportunity to show my work to fellow students, members of staff and people from local businesses at the project exhibition*. The experience I gained from my project will greatly help my plans to secure a graduate position as an IT consultant or junior project manager."
*The annual project poster exhibition gives final year students the chance to show their work to industry representatives.
