We aim to ensure that you gain real experience of professional working life. We encourage you to participate in national competitions and high profile events.
Projects
Projects cover areas such as:
- the rehabilitation of existing buildings for public use;
- design for retail spaces;
- exhibition and museum design;
- workplace design;
- film and TV production design; and
- the developing area of experiential design (to do with experience or observation).
Competitions and placements
Outside companies often set projects, awarding placements or prizes to the best. This can make a great addition to your CV. Our students' exceptional achievements in major design competitions and film festivals mean employers appreciate the calibre of Kingston Design School graduates.
Examples of organisations offering placements include prestigious Vienna-based architectural practice Coop Himmelblau and the celebrated Conran Design Group.
