Interior Design BA(Hons): Fees and funding

2017/18 fees for this course

The tuition fee you pay depends on whether you are assessed as a 'Home' (UK or EU), 'Islands' or 'International' student. In 2017/18 the fees for this course are:

 Fee category  Amount
Home (UK and EU students) £9,250*
Overseas Year 1 (2017/18): £14,500
Year 2 (2018/19): £14,900
Year 3 (2019/20): £15,300
Islands (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) To be confirmed by the Island Authorities

* These fees are annual and may increase in line with inflation each year subject to the results of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

Eligible UK and EU students can apply to the Government for a tuition loan, which is paid direct to the University. This has a low interest rate which is charged from the time the first part of the loan is paid to the University until you have repaid it.

Additional costs

Students are supplied with materials that are adequate to fulfil the requirements of each module, so no further costs are required to successfully complete the work required for assessment.

If you elect to use materials that are not supplied as standard via your workshop or course, you will bear these costs. Spending extra money in this way will not have any effect on your marks.

Field trips are paid for by students, but these are optional. Occasional trips to London will be required, the cost of which will be borne by students.

Students on this course are required to present design work in a printed format during presentations and for final assessment. Staff are happy to advise on the most cost-effective options available.

Our students are required to supply their own basic drawing equipment at the start of the course. Desktops and laptops are available on a daily basis throughout the Knight's Park campus but many students do find it easier to purchase their own device at the appropriate stage of the course.

In addition to these course-specific additional costs, it is likely that you may incur extra costs as a student at Kingston University. It is useful for you to be aware of the types of things you may have to pay for. Find out more.
