About this course

Why choose this course?

This course will prepare you to work in organisations that do business across national borders. You will explore cultural issues and international dimensions of business and management, and will study a foreign language. You can extend the course to four years' duration by taking a study exchange to Europe, the US or Hong Kong; a placement; or both.

What will you study?

As well as covering basic business functions, the curriculum includes international dimensions and implications for business and management; explores relevant issues of culture; and develops foreign language competence. The languages currently on offer for study are:

  • Arabic;
  • French;
  • German;
  • Italian;
  • Japanese;
  • Mandarin;
  • Spanish; and
  • English (for non-native speakers).

Although no previous language ability is necessary, if you have studied French, German or Spanish to A-level standard, you can pursue your language studies from that point. You can also choose to study this course as a joint honours programme with French/Spanish.

All our business courses have a shared first year so you can easily transfer to the second year of a different course if your interests change.
