What you need to apply for this course
Typical offer
- Single honours: 340 points (AAB)
- Joint honours: 340 points (AAB) or equivalent.
- Units: to include three A-levels or equivalent.
- Subjects:
- No specific A-level subjects required.
- Key Skills points not accepted in tariff or accepted in lieu of GCSEs.
- General Studies will only be accepted in the tariff score when one of four A-levels or equivalent.
- Plus GCSE: Mathematics (grade A–C required) and English Language/Literature (grade A–B required).
Further requirements for specific combinations
- Creative Writing: 100 points at A-level in English Language or a related subject.
- English Language and Communication: 100 points at A-level or equivalent in English Language or a related subject
- English Literature: 100 points at A-level in English Literature / Language or a related subject.
- French: 100 points at A-level in French or 40 points at AS-level or GCSE French grade A–B.
- Media and Cultural Studies: Students taking Media Studies A-level must achieve grade B or above.
- Psychology: Students taking Psychology A-level must achieve grade B or above.
- Spanish: 100 points at A-level in Spanish, 40 points at AS-level or GCSE grade A–B.
Other entry routes
We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.
International students
All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with 6.5 in Writing. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.
Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
