Marketing & Advertising BSc(Hons) with business experience: Course features

What this course offers you

  • A degree plus integrated business experience comprising our Business Readiness Programme, a placement option of up to nine months, professional body membership and exemptions and a path towards professional qualifications. This is within the same timescale, and for the same fee, as the traditional three-year undergraduate degrees offered by many other universities.
  • You can choose from one of the following from our placement options:
    • a work placement in an organisation (private, public, not for profit and where possible you will be paid);
    • study abroad;
    • a research work placement relevant for those considering an academic career; or
    • an entrepreneurship experience that supports you through either a work placement in a funded start-up or starting your own business (including multi-disciplinary support and seed funding).
  • Our Business and Professional Experience team provides you with dedicated support and helps you to prepare for your placement option. This includes assisting you with the application process, including researching and targeting your placement; writing your CV, cover letters and getting ready for interviews; as well as how to use your placement to benefit your future career.
  • This course offers you a thorough grounding in key business disciplines, with a focus on advertising, marketing management and the broader marketing communications mix.
  • It provides you with a deep and broad understanding of all the marketing disciplines, giving you a wide choice of career routes.
  • You would be particularly well prepared for a career in marketing communications planning, either client-side or agency-side.
  • This course is run by Kingston Business School – one of the leading providers of management and business education with a long-established international reputation. Kingston Business School is a signatory of the United Nation's Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) charter. This shows our commitment to responsible management, ethics and sustainability, and we embed this in your teaching.
  • You are assigned a personal tutor for the duration of your degree who is advised of the assessments for each module on your course. This enables your tutor to identify and discuss with you areas of strength and weakness in your skills and knowledge set. Your personal tutor remains with you throughout your studies: feedback received and discussed in Year 1 will feed forward into subsequent years. This enables your tutor to direct you to appropriate sources of support, guidance and development.
