About this course

Why choose this course?

This course is ideal if you want to develop an all-round understanding of marketing management and its function within business. It combines specialist marketing subjects with a sound grounding in general business studies. A practical, hands-on approach enables you to appreciate the thinking behind planning and implementing effective marketing communications campaigns, from both client-side and agency-side perspectives.

You also have the opportunity to study a modern European language. An optional work placement year enables you to put theory into practice in a real business situation and build invaluable work experience before embarking on your future career. Alternatively you can choose to spend a year on a study exchange abroad.

What will you study?

You will examine a wide range of business activities via modules in core business disciplines and management skills. You will be introduced to the marketing function in modern business and not-for-profit organisations, and go on to study the marketing concept and the marketing mix. Modules in marketing communications will teach you how to run effective marketing campaigns and evaluate their impact. You will also learn about market research techniques.

All our business courses have a shared first year so you can easily transfer to the second year of a different course if your interests change.

Where will you study?

Years 1 and 2 are taught at our partner institution, Richmond upon Thames College, as well as at Kingston University. Year 3 must be taken at the University.
