About this course
Why choose this course?
This degree combines a study of visual and acoustic technologies with the development of creative design skills. It is ideal if you have an interest in the application of information and entertainment technologies. The course has been designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds - we recognise that few entrants can have strengths in both the design and technical aspects of the programme.
You can also choose to study Media Technology as a joint honours degree alongside another subject. See the 'course combinations' section for more information.
What will you study?
The course explores three themes of study:
- creative design, including illustration, animation and acoustics using electronic media;
- computer and information systems, including use of 3D image and acoustic processing software;
- physical principles of image and sound creation, transmission, detection and storage, including media instrumentation studies.
