Medical Technologies FdSc: Course features
What this course offers you
- This work-based course gives you the competencies needed to establish a career in medical technology.
- It is specially designed for students already working with medical technology equipment in an NHS trust or participating provider.
- You can follow your own interests by choosing one of three pathways – Medical Equipment Technology, Medical Device Decontamination or Medical Gas Technology. (Read more in the Pathway options section.)
- The course is designed to offer maximum flexibility so you can fit it around your job and other commitments. The modules are delivered primarily through work based learning materials such as workbooks and podcast lectures, and there will be short periods of attendance at Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire. - We will assign each student a mentor to offer guidance and support.
- Assessment is mainly through a portfolio, which will contain evidence of practical work-based assessments, reports and critical evaluation.
