What this course offers you
- This two-year foundation degree provides an introduction to pharmacy, chemistry and the pharmaceutical sciences.
- We teach the programme jointly with South Thames College (Merton campus), drawing on the strengths of each institution. Read more about the Merton campus on the South Thames College website.
- First-year modules provide an introduction to core subjects in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical and chemical sciences. Optional modules in the second year allow you to specialise according to your area of interest.
- Many modules incorporate online blended learning, allowing you to study effectively when not on campus.
- A strong practical element helps to develop your laboratory techniques.
- This is aided by an ongoing work placement, providing valuable vocational experience for subsequent job applications (read more in the Work placements section).
- Students successfully completing the course can:
- continue for a further year of full-time study (no placement) to get a Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences BSc; or
- transfer to the second year of the Pharmacy, Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry undergraduate masters courses.
