The Politics team specialise in different areas of the discipline, which means we can offer you a broad range of modules. Our courses are based on our personal and research interests, so our teaching is topical and well-informed.
For a relatively small team, we have published a large number of books and articles and regularly participate in national and international conferences. Current staff and their subject interests include:
- Andy Higginbottom specialises in Latin America.
- Paul Dixon is an expert on Northern Ireland and political conflict in general.
- Orna Almog is an expert on Middle East politics.
- Mike Roberts runs modules that cover area studies (China, India, the 'Third World'), gender and culture.
- Philip Spencer is an expert on nationalism and also teaches courses on holocaust history and genocide.
