"I wanted to do this course because I am interested in how the objects that we surround ourselves with can affect our sense of well-being. I chose to study at Kingston because it has a very good reputation for Product and Furniture Design.
"I've really liked the town. I'm hoping to get a house and settle here. It's very chilled - there are lots of bars and really nice places to hang out. Also you can get into London very easily.
"The course is studio-based. There were about 30 of us doing the degree so we were together in the studio talking about what we were doing the whole time. As a result, we became really good friends and that made the course very enjoyable. There were also some really good practising professionals who came in to tutor us.
"In the first year, you do set projects that teach you the basic skills. There were lots of museum trips, which were great fun.
"From the second year, you can choose to specialise more. We did a really good group project, sponsored by the publisher Bloomberg, where we were given a budget of £1,000 to make something. In another project, we had to design a toothbrush for oral hygiene.
"The course has ignited my interest in antique furniture and I have decided I want to build a career in this area. I used my dissertation to learn about the subject in more depth. If I hadn't studied Product and Furniture Design, I would never have known that this was what I wanted to do."
