Psychology with Criminology BSc(Hons): Entry requirements

Typical offer

The minimum entry qualifications for the programme are:

• From A levels: 112 UCAS points

• BTEC National: Distinction, Merit, Merit (DMM) from a social science related BTEC Extended Diploma

• Access Diploma: Pass

• Plus: GCSE Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

• A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall

Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) clearance may be required for participation in some modules.This will be applied for at the start of the relevant modules rather than at the beginning of the course programme.

Other entry routes 

We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

If you don't meet the above entry requirements our International Foundation Year can prepare you for entry progression onto this degree course.

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirement, which is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no element below 5.5. Make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements could be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from a recognised majority English speaking countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
