Sociology BSc(Hons): Active students

Sociology research

Sociology BSc(Hons) students carry out research throughout their programme. Completing a final-year dissertation is the highlight of this approach.

The dissertation provides opportunity for students to choose a sociology topic to research and study in depth.

Students present their research project in our annual end-of-year student conference. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase research to Sociology BSc(Hons) peers and academic staff.

Kingston University Sociology and Criminology Society

Kingston University Sociology and Criminology Society (KUSC) is open to students who are studying sociology or criminology. The society helps students find people with similar interests, and enjoy life on the Sociology BSc(Hons).

Student Staff Consultation Committee

The Student Staff Consultation Committee is a forum in which to contribute to teaching and learning in the Department of Criminology and Sociology. It enables students to share ideas and experiences and become more involved with departmental activities.

Student representatives play a key role in the life of the department. They are invited to contribute to the activities of the Department such as module choices, online and social media presence, research seminars, social activities and student support.

For more information about the Student Staff Consultative Committee, please contact Dr Francis Dodsworth by emailing f.dodsworth@kingston.ac.uk.
