About this course

Why choose this course?

This integrated masters degree enables you to build on fundamental software engineering principles to develop your knowledge across the whole spectrum of the discipline. The four-year course enables you to explore advanced and emerging areas of software engineering, providing an ideal preparation for future research work either in industry or on a PhD programme.

What will you study?

The curriculum's core themes are computing systems, information management and software engineering. The first two years of the course concentrate on the key areas required to build reliable and maintainable software systems on time and within budget. Work experience forms the core of the third year, together with professional training and preparation for your final-year project through a module in research methods. In the final year, you will focus on a major project and study both undergraduate and MSc-level modules in advanced software engineering topics.
