What this course offers you
- Studying Spanish at Kingston gives you the opportunity to develop oral and written fluency in the language.
- You will also explore some of the major social and historical landmarks that shaped present-day Spain and its people.
- Part of the course is to study aspects of Spanish culture (eg cinema), society and literature.
- Studying Spanish as a minor field offers you an exciting opportunity to combine a language with another subject. A good working knowledge of Spanish will both complement and enhance your specialist area of study and open up new perspectives.
- The teaching quality of our languages programmes was rated "excellent" in the last national assessment exercise.
- You'll have access to an excellent language laboratory, containing networked multimedia PCs, allowing you to interact with Spanish videos and language software.
- We assess your learning in a variety of ways, including take-home assessments and portfolios, as well as some exams.
- A highlight of the course is the chance to spend a semester living and studying in Spain. We have longstanding links with universities in Cadiz and Valladolid (read more in the Study abroad section).
- The Spanish language is in great demand in both the UK and abroad. Employers also need people who are happy operating across cultures, are flexible, good at team working and excellent communicators. You will develop all these skills during your course.
