Entry requirements for 2018

Typical offer

Points: 80-88 UCAS points or equivalent
Units: to include two A-levels or equivalent


  • At least one Sport OR Science A2 at C or above in either PE (Physical Education), Sport Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Applied Science or Psychology, Sport Psychology.
  • 80 points (MMP) - Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science or Applied Science or Applied Biology or Sport.
  • Plus GCSE Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

Other entry routes

We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that is equivalent to the typical offer. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome.

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
