Dr Katie Dray (lecturer)

Katie's teaching area is within health and exercise psychology. Her research interests lie in athlete cognition and emotion as well as the process of counterfactual thinking.

Dr Chris Easton (senior lecturer)

Chris's teaching area is applied exercise physiology and research methods. He is acting course director for the Exercise, Nutrition and Health BSc(Hons). His current research interests include high-intensity interval training, exercise in the heat, accelerometry, physical activity and obesity. Chris is also our research and consultancy co-ordinator. Dr Hannah Moir (lecturer)

Hannah's teaching area is in health and exercise physiology with interest in exercise prescription and sports injuries. Her research interests include cellular signalling, muscle damage and inflammation with application to conditions such as Type 2 diabetes. Hannah is also assistant admissions tutor for sport and exercise sciences. Hannah is also responsible for web presence co-ordination. Read more.

Dr Andrea Petroczi (professor)

Andrea is professor of public health crossing the disciplines of life sciences and social sciences. Her research interests lie in social cognitive processes of using performance enhancing supplements and drugs as well as behavioural choices and food safety. Read more.

Dr Beth Pummell (senior lecturer)

Beth's teaching area is in the field of sport and exercise psychology. She is also admissions tutor for sport and exercise science courses. Her research interests include transitions within an athlete's career and the psychology of sportsmen/sportswomen development. Beth is a British Psychological Society (BPS) chartered sport psychologist, BASES-accredited and Health Professions Council (HPC) registered. Read more.

Dr Owen Spendiff (principal lecturer)

Owen's teaching area is sport and exercise physiology. He is the course director for the Sports Science BSc(Hons). Owen's research interests lie in fatigue and force velocity relations, upper-body exercises as well as nutritional ergogenic aids. Read more.

Dr Nicola Swann (senior lecturer)

Nicola's teaching area is sport and exercise biomechanics. Her current research interests include the effects of growth and development on biomechanics and injury mechanisms during athletic activities. Nicola is also the course director for the joint honours courses. Read more.

Teaching is also delivered in collaboration with Kingston College and other guest lecturers.
