Television and New Broadcasting Media BA(Hons): Course features

What this course offers you

  • This course focuses primarily on the practice, theory and criticism of television. You also cover a range of other inter-related areas of broadcasting and media, including:
    • radio and iPods;
    • the internet and blogs;
    • mobile phones; and
    • magazines.
  • You will develop television production skills, analyse television programmes and debate the role of television. We will encourage you to discuss the challenges and possibilities for television in the 21st century.
  • You will have access to a specialist suite of laboratory spaces equipped with materials for working on video materials and editing.
  • Our enthusiastic staff are actively involved in the broadcasting industries. Links with local tele-visual industries and the Royal Television Society will help if you choose to take a work experience placement.
  • Language tuition and the opportunity to go on an international exchange are available.
