About this course
Why choose this course?
If you have an interest in using the latest science and technology in the fight against cancer, along with the desire for a hospital-based career with substantial patient contact, this course is ideal. Therapeutic radiographers are responsible for the planning and delivery of radiotherapy to patients with cancer, and are involved in their physical and emotional welfare.
What will you study?
Your studies will be split approximately 50:50 between academic study and clinical practice placements. The course covers the core themes of biological and physical sciences, together with specialist modules relevant to therapeutic radiography (eg oncology and cancer care). Clinical education is provided at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (Chelsea or Sutton) or at the Royal Surrey NHS Trust (Guildford).

The module aims to introduce students to working and learning with each other. The module teaches the foundation skills for professional practice such as communication skills alongside relevant anatomy and clinical sciences relevant to all students. In this module you will be learning alongside other healthcare students (medicine, diagnostic and therapeutic radiography and biomedical science).
