Q: what student life is kinda like
Asked by andie
I'm trying to apply for universities, an I've been obviously searching through several different ones to find the best one for my career choice, and I'm just inquiring for some information about how the student life would be like at Kingston, an how to go about the courses, and the mandatory amount of courses needed to be taken.

Hi
There are lots of different things to do in Kingston, both through the university and just in the town. In terms of nightlife, there are a few different nightclubs in the town with nights for a broad range of music tastes, as well as the student bars at every campus. There are many opportunities to meet other students too. Aside from the people you meet from your course and in your halls of residence, you might join one of our many societies, like the popular snow sports society, for example. There is also a great volunteering programme at Kingston so you can get involved in the community with your fellow students. On top of this, your life as a student might involve taking on one of the many jobs available through the university, from fundraising to working in a Student Union shop.
I'm not quite sure what you mean when you ask how many courses you have to take since usually you'll just study a single or possibly joint honours degree, and each course has a different setup in terms of how many modules you need to take and how much choice you get in these modules. I can tell you that there is also the opportunity to study a foreign language alongside your studies and that you can choose whether this makes up part of your final degree or not.
Hope this helps and please do ask any more questions if I haven't covered everything.
