Hey,
That is quite a tough question to answer as it is very broad....
Kingston is a good sized town close to central London. I do many things at university and outside of the university, and that is how I made friends. I dance a lot in classes, shows, and nightclubs... I was a cheerleader, and I have a job working in a pub and in the University as an ambassaor! My closest friends are from my course and from my work, although I have meet so many people since coming here.
The university has several large libraries, coffee shops, canteens and bars for studying and socialising.
If you would like to know more about my experiences, why not follow my blog on this site. And if you think of something specific feel free to post back.
I hope this has helped, Charlie.
